About us
YEA – Youth Empowerment through co-creative Activity development is a European project born by the joint work of three European partners and funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
The Context
Following recent social changes and ongoing conflicts, this project responds to the need of youth living in vulnerable situations to build bridges and connections within the local communities. Often, families face cultural and linguistic differences when seeking their own place in society. Teenagers and young adults, especially those living in vulnerable situations, are among the most affected groups, as they are under supported for regional and national programs and face difficulties to connect with their communities.
In such a context, community representatives, as well as support and youth organisation staff, can play a vital role in enhancing the sense of belonging among youth as well as facilitating networking and collaborating with them for the development of activities.
The offer of sustainable and engaging leisure activities by local communities can empower youth to participate more, to build social bridges through a co-creative process, and to become the agents to build a sense of community.
